TheOrganicBeautyShop.com.au is owned by Stefanie Samuel, and has been in operation since 2007 (previously under the name of Pukka).
Stefanie is usually the person responding to your emails, packing your orders, and answering the phone, in between renovating her house, corralling her two dogs, and attempting various other activities that you can read about on her blog.
Stefanie explains how TheOrganicBeautyShop.com.au came to life:
“I struggle with oily, congested, blemished, acne-prone skin. For years I tried everything on the shelves, but with zero skin care knowledge, it was all hit and miss. Nothing really worked until I stumbled upon some products made primarily from natural ingredients. Long story short, every product in my bathroom has now been switched over to a natural alternative. Cosmetics, shampoo, perfume, the lot. But, it wasn't easy! I spent a long time being frustrated that there weren't more organic products around. I would literally stand in the supermarket aisle and stamp my foot, angrily returning yet another toxic product to the shelf…
Eventually, my business idea was born.
TheOrganicBeautyShop.com.au is designed to offer you a generous selection of Australia's best organic beauty brands in the one place, coupled with excellent customer service, and a Beauty Blog for the skin knowledge we all need."

Why Australian Only?
An important factor in sustainability is keeping things local. While some brands may import elements of their products from overseas (certain ingredients, packaging, etc), most are making a concerted effort to use locally sourced materials as much as possible. This reduces carbon footprint and supports the Australian economy.
Secondly, most Australians don't realise how good Australian beauty brands are! Around the world, Australian products are highly prized for their quality. Several of the brands you see here are competing across Asia, the UK, Europe, and the US, alongside major beauty brands.
So whichever way you look at it, buying Australian is a good decision.
